I remember seeing the Leonard Fairclough works yard, it was a long time ago though, I'm sure it could be seen from Wigan Lane (A5106) going to Chorley, so must have been on the A6 going towards Heath Charnock way.

I worked for Leonard Faircloughs when I left school in the early 1970s. Their yard was in Lower Adlington right in the centre with the head office nearby in Chapel St. Leonard Fairclough was still alive and we used to see him being chauffeur driven in his Rolls Royce.

I worked for leonard Fairclough also in the early 70s.yes we saw him being chauffeured about to..prob late 80s by then.
