Them three wheeled scooters take up a lot of pavement, kids on them dont care if they run over your toes.

Chimney pots as plant pots!
For me, the chairs spoil the effect.

These cottages always take my eye as we pass. xx

A country cottage in Wigan, with all the bits and bobs coming from China via the Range

Whatever happened to roses round the door? They are beautiful cottages though - I would have loved to own one. At least I have an original chimney pot ( with plants)!

Everybody to their own.

Veronica,I have 2 old Chimney Pots, and a very old Slop Stone.

A lovely looking cottage, but I would have roses around the door to finish it all off.

Kid's scooters don't take as much of the pavement as mobility scooters, especially as they usually launch into people.Having said that, these cottages always look attractive,as does the barn conversion a few yards away near to the Colliers pub in New Springs.

Mick.. "Those" - not "them"

Veronica, I have an original box of white blackboard-chalk. And if you and your chums fancy getting Hopscotch going again up at Wigan Road then let me know - I'd be only too glad to whizz the sticks along to you. But then, your friendly Howfen Post Office should have the stuff in stock. Take care.

I would love a 'slop stone' preferably in brown I would put rockery plants in it... I remember we had one in Scholes! Then we got a white one and I thought we were 'posh'. Especially when we had a tile fireplace as well! I suppose we would be classed as 'frozen in time' though Jinksi !

That's nice of you Philip - it's good than I can still hop about! ( especially on a train or bus!)
