Photo-a-Day  (Thursday, 21st March, 2019)

I'm sorry but I can't stand them. When I worked in a store in Wigan they used to come in and let their children WRECK the toys that were out on display for Christmas, and expected to get special prices on developing and printing of photos, when working folk paid full price. I was once in a chippy near our house when a little gypsy lad came in, went straight to the FRONT of a VERY long queue, plonked a pound coin on the counter and said, "Me Mother says what can you give us for this.....we're a big family?". He hadn't the slightest intention of queueing up! They have unbelievable cheek! Sorry, but I and my family have worked all our lives and paid full whack for everything, and I find their attitude totally unacceptable.

Maybe we could remember that it was travellers who donated many thousands of pounds worth of groceries to the Food Banks up and down the country, perhaps we all have a little goodness in us sometime. Before the shouting starts--- I don't like some of the things that happen as a result of these temporary parks either, the clean up BILL must be unbelievable .

Everywhere they go ends up as a Tip jack.

Wigan council having a blitz against fly tipping. I wonder if they will take the travellers to court if they don't clear their mess up before leaving?

Years ago living in Croston they took over a local field, the damage they caused in the village and the thefts from shops and houses unbelievable. The Council even provided them with mobile toilets and even cleaned up after they eventually left.

I was in the chemist near Mesnes park last week, and as I went in a young woman came bursting out with the biggest black eye I've seen, followed by a young lad about 14 wearing a white football shirt who was shouting at the top of his voice I presumed he had some sort of Tourettes As I went in there was another young lad about 10 asking the cost of some tablets? when the assistant said £4.50 off he went following the other two. It transpires the woman had stolen 6 bottles of perfume The woman behind the counter said they were"GYPSIES" and the young lad who was shouting was just a ruse to put the staff off whilst the woman took the bottles of perfume. Anyway another assistant got on the phone to some central security place in Wigan, to warn other shops. The woman would have been easily identifiable with a black eye. SCUM... who unfortunately appear to be "above the law" in all matters where the likes of me and you would be prosecuted.

Gypsies.

This is too politically sensitive a subject for any politician to go near with a barge pole .
They know if they did , they would be called racist . Much easier to kick the can down the road , politicians are good at that .

One's knocking on your front door when you go to answer it tuther one's getting in through your Back Door.SCUM.

My sister happened to be in the way of group of these children on bikes . They told her in the most aggressive and abusive way to get out of the way . She arrived home very distressed and shocked . They were only about 9 or 10 , children , she said , but they were like wild animals. If I would have challenged them , God knows , what would have happened. This is a major problem we are not allowed to speak about to avoid being called racist . Everywhere they go there is a problem , but we are being told not to speak . It’s ridiculous! Just hope they never come to your area because you will remember it for sure .

You had it as well Alan . They will try any con to steal because they are temporary in the area , before being moved on. The law can’t pin them down . They don’t have dustbins , so they just dump where they are .
Then , move to the next place , yet , tax payers clean up their mess.

About two years ago myself and a mate did our usual walk down Beefold Lane in Atherton and walk up to the back of Howe Bridge sports centre where some of these people had parked.Dogs came snapping at us and ripped my mates jeans The women just laughed at us and told us to eff off.At the front of the sports centre was a police car and when we told the officer what had happened he just said to avoid the area.SCUM.
