Ken R - that's Mick's Flight Log....
Changi is the name given to a notorious Japanese PoW camp nearby. 800 Allied servicemen died there in WW2.
One of my brothers was based at RAF Changi in the 1950s.
A cousin of mine was at Changi POW camp during the war. But he did come home thank God.
Have Wigan World will travel
Changi jail now as a chapel that you can visit to see the Changi murals, I was there a couple of weeks ago, they told no photos so I only managed to take a couple
Three nights on the way to Oz and three night on return Wigan v Hull in Oz Mick and more. Been there before so know the score.
On our way home this time we went to T1 and in the basement they have a airport workers canteen, the food is brilliant and they have two price list one for the staff and one for visitors.
Enjoy your trip Roy.
Was Based in Singapore in the 60's for nearly three years. Loved the place and the people
I did my National Service in Singapore 1947-1949.we were not far from Changi I imagine the island is changed out of all recognition !
Steve all places change but Singapore as changed from a little island with kampongs villages to one of the most developed citys in the world.
Even teh island its self as gone much bigger because of land reclamation.
Hi Mick, thanks for the tip re the T1 canteen and thank you for your best wishes.
