Changi is the name given to a notorious Japanese PoW camp nearby. 800 Allied servicemen died there in WW2.
One of my brothers was based at RAF Changi in the 1950s.

A cousin of mine was at Changi POW camp during the war. But he did come home thank God.

Changi jail now as a chapel that you can visit to see the Changi murals, I was there a couple of weeks ago, they told no photos so I only managed to take a couple

Three nights on the way to Oz and three night on return Wigan v Hull in Oz Mick and more. Been there before so know the score.

On our way home this time we went to T1 and in the basement they have a airport workers canteen, the food is brilliant and they have two price list one for the staff and one for visitors.

I did my National Service in Singapore 1947-1949.we were not far from Changi I imagine the island is changed out of all recognition !

Steve all places change but Singapore as changed from a little island with kampongs villages to one of the most developed citys in the world.
Even teh island its self as gone much bigger because of land reclamation.
