Bag a bargain
"Matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs"
Nice one, Brian.
It dont look that busy to me
It used to be the January Sales that people would stand in queues for- sometimes all night before the event. Now it's sales time all year round and doesn't have quite the same impact. All I bought was half a dozen tea towels!.....Sometimes you buy just for the sake of it!
A meeting-place for friends, like Woolworth's Corner used to be.
Irene spent many a time waiting outside Woolly's for the girlfriend(now Wife). Today most wait on the seats inside the Grand Arcade nice and warm.
What is the point of the grand arcade when the other arcade is empty and nearly close down because of high rents implimented by councils who have no idea how to balance their spending.
I agree with Mick. You would think it would be busier but Veronica is right, to many sales all year round now for Must Haves....
The busiest shop in the Grand Arcade this Christmas (and the past 2) must be the Pandora shop. Goodness knows why, but they have had massive queues.Yes, sales are all year round and people seem to believe shopping is a leisure pursuit.I prefer a walk anytime over shopping.
T K Max is moving to Robin Park in Feb.
Yes, I've waited on those seats for my friend....warmer than Woolie's Corner! Nice cafes in there too.
So have I too Irene! It's grand in that arcade!
I,ve said this before Woolies corner was for chattin and watchin the young ladies go past, A wink and smile worked wonders! Winter and summer we would be standin there!!
