Photo-a-Day (Friday, 14th July, 2017)
Jools
Photo: Dave (Oy) (Fuji X-Pro2)
Excellent shot Mr Oy !!
Never heard of him.
He plays a mean piano....brilliant picture.
You only have to look at the photo to know who's taken it..brilliant Oy.
I suspect good enough to be a newspaper photographer, some of their shots in newspapers especially in the sports pages taken at speed and from a great distance are superb. Look at the quality of Frank Orrell's photos from the 1960s and without today's camera technology, it just goes to show how good Frank is.
Not my cup of tea.
Looking how Jools knees stick out from his pants, I bet he could easily win a knobbly knee contest.
Saw him live at Harewood House, Leeds, a while back. Absolutely brilliant.
My Black and White wedding photo appeared in the Wigan Observer in 1967, absolutely crystal clear, that was 50 years ago.
My wedding photo appeared in the Observer in 1969 as Alex says crystal clear. The week after I went on the market and saw it being wrapped around some carrots!
Jools Holland - superb musician - outstanding talent and such a treat to listen to. Like you Veronica, my wedding photo appeared in the Wigan Observer in 1969 - the times when you stood stock still, else the photograph would be blurred.
Beautiful photo and interesting topic Dave, as usual!
That had me crying with laughter, Veronica! Brilliant! x.
Irene it's true. I asked the woman could I have the paper because I had been on honeymoon and didn't know it was in the paper. I said "Hey - that's my picture!" She did give it to me so I could order the picture!
Talk about yesterday's news! It was a big picture as well- they don't seem to do that these days. Maybe it's because not many get married now.
Veronica / Irene. I thought would Veronica take this the wrong way but I couldn't stop laughing about the carrots . I have a very dry
sense of humour and this one did me in proper. Nice one Veronica
It would be carrots wouldn't it - !! They didn't waste brown paper bags then Dave/ Irene!
Pat McC must of had the shakes at their wedding ha ha lol.
pat m'c you should be still having your photo taken, why wouldn't you.
An excellent shot, nice how he shows up against the black background.
Dave, I have never met Veronica but due to the banter we share, (including Maureen, who I DO know), I know she won't take things the wrong way. After having three pigs named after us in a recent photo-a-day, we have no choice but to have a sense of humour!
Thanks all - he's a great entertainer!
