What a beautiful picture. Totally simple, a study in serenity.
Thank you Harry.

Comment by: Mick on 13th July 2017 at 06:40

They did a good job in restoring the the Pulham cascade waterfall, hope they dont let it get overgrown again because its looking that way.

Comment by: Maureen on 13th July 2017 at 08:07

Comment by: irene roberts on 13th July 2017 at 11:06

That's beautiful and holds warm memories of Sunday afternoons in Wigan Park with my parents. I love the simplicity of the green and white without other colours. It gives a feeling of peace.

Comment by: Anne on 13th July 2017 at 12:10

Most certainly just right.

Comment by: Lock Lass on 13th July 2017 at 12:22

Such a stunning picture Harry; I like the way you have caught the reflections - I would like that hung on my hall wall.

Comment by: Veronica on 13th July 2017 at 13:10

Good idea Sam ....we'll invite all the gang and have a merry old time!
It wouldn't be so quiet and tranquil then though!

Comment by: Maureen on 13th July 2017 at 14:17

Veronica and Sam..I'll bring a home baked fruit loaf and some scones.

Comment by: Essex Girl on 13th July 2017 at 14:29

Lovely picture. Brings back memories. Want to frame this one.

Comment by: RON HUNT on 13th July 2017 at 14:48

Comment by: Veronica on 13th July 2017 at 15:07

Mmmmm- I'll bring lashings of ginger beer.....!

Comment by: Maureen on 13th July 2017 at 15:45

Ron,you can have Daves..he's on a diet..I made him one every week until he had to lose weight.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 13th July 2017 at 18:08

That's a belter!

Comment by: irene roberts on 13th July 2017 at 19:57

Veronica, can I have a Barley Wine, please, instead of ginger beer? And Maureen, I'm not a sweet-tooth and I could sit with that fruit cake in front of me for a week and not touch it, but never turn your back on a meat pie when I'm around! (No wonder they named those three pigs in Haigh on a recent photo-a-day Veronica, Maureen and Irene. I was actually quite flattered, Ladies, weren't YOU?.....they are lovely!) x

Comment by: Maureen on 13th July 2017 at 20:55

Irene .I'm not a meat lover at all..now a butter pie I just love.

Comment by: Maureen on 13th July 2017 at 21:02

Irene,I must tell you there is a donkey on Blackpool beach named Mo...and I'm very proud of that too.

Comment by: Veronica on 13th July 2017 at 21:36

What started off as a sedate picnic is going to be a big booze up instead! What the heck!
why not??? The Three Pigs can supply the sausage rolls and pork pies! We'll end up scaring the ducks off!

Comment by: Harry C. on 13th July 2017 at 21:47

Thanks all for your comments and appreciation, I went down through Haigh Plantations on my bike hence my little Nikon, it's easier to carry on my bike, Lock Lass and Essex Girl you can copy save and print any of the photos on WW pic a day. Cheers H.

Comment by: John Morris on 13th July 2017 at 22:06

Superb.

Comment by: . Ozymandias. on 13th July 2017 at 22:10

Maureen, I don't suppose you could do something that was half baked could you, just so that DTease and myself don't feel left out? No doubt Garry will bring the sherry.

Comment by: John Morris on 13th July 2017 at 22:14

Superb.

Comment by: irene roberts on 13th July 2017 at 22:49

A butter pie or a cheese-and-onion will do me fine, Maureen, just not anything sweet. Cheers, Veronica, .....hic! Harry C, thanks for not only the fantastic photo but for letting us share a bit of fun; Maureen and I have been "told off" before now for "going off the subject"! If Photo-a-day can bring Wigan folk together in fun and friendship, that's no bad thing these days. Wigan World celebrates the neighbourliness and camaraderie of years gone by, now sadly lost, and if we can recapture that, then something's working!

Comment by: Veronica on 13th July 2017 at 23:59

When we have eaten and drunk our fill
We can roly-poly down the hill!
As of old stay in the park
And make our way home when it gets dark.

Cheers and hic !
From a sorry bunch of pensioners Harry!

Comment by: Ellen on 14th July 2017 at 00:38

I'm just loving all the chatter, and wish I could be with you all at the picnic! ...But will be there in spirit,if not with Spirits!

Comment by: Ellen on 14th July 2017 at 06:43

I just have to say it again; this photo said so much to me about Wigan as it is today.(This is on my umpteenth viewing of it,I simply have to keep coming back!) So without further ado,THANK YOU HARRY!!

Comment by: Maureen on 14th July 2017 at 07:18

Ozy..of course..but why half baked..I just love baking,I myself haven't got a sweet tooth and Cliff is type two diabetic which means I bake and give it away...it's a pity I don't brew my own wine now,we could have all had a ball..and I'll put my best frock on.lol...are you all ready girls.

Comment by: Sam h on 14th July 2017 at 10:11

Veronica, this is turning out to be a expensive picnic I only meant a few jam butties and a bottle of corporation pop,but what the heck ginger beer does sound good, ha ha.

Comment by: Veronica on 14th July 2017 at 13:48

It must have sounded dead good Sam -what can you do???

Comment by: irene roberts on 14th July 2017 at 16:19

Maureen, Ozy means that he and DTease are only half-baked so if you brought something half-baked along with you, they wouldn't feel left out. I know Ozy and he's not wrong! (Only joking, Ozy!).

Comment by: Sam,h on 15th July 2017 at 09:00

Veronica, will bring along my Bob Dylan lookalike harmonica we can all have a good old shin dig ha ha.

Comment by: Veronica on 15th July 2017 at 12:54

I'll bring mi mam's old rubbing board Sam....
can't wait!

Comment by: Sam h on 15th July 2017 at 17:36
