Worisit?
I see little George stood is still there.
words fail me another monstrosity like the face well done wigan council
Sputnik with a hair transplant..
Whatever it is ....it's neither use nor ornament.... As they say!!!
Who is George Stood? Am I losing my faculties again?
'Would you like to swing on a star -carry moonbeams home in a jar'....tra la la la la la la la........or would you rather be a pig!
George stood is the statue of George Formby and the photo is in the Grand Arcade
fred what has it got to do with Wigan council they do not own the Grand Arcade
Very happy to see the statue of our George still in its prominent position, there was plans to return it to the insignificant position in the side arcade at the back, the George Formby Society wasn't pleased, maybe a word was had with John.
Fred - this is in the Grand Arcade - it has nothing to do with Wigan Council.
Nice shot Jane :)
Puts things into perspective this , a council tax rise this month ,news today that rubish bins only being emptied every 3weeks instead of two, nice to see the councils money being spent on rubish yet again ,perhaps done by a relative on the council who knows.
DTease..hes just in front of the cream pillar..and more or less facing the entrance to the Arcade.
The Grand Arcade is private property - its internal decoration will not have been funded by Wigan Council. As for Council cuts, and rising Council tax, every Council is having to do the same throughout the country, as a result of severe cuts to the grants they're receiving from central government. It's not their fault....
I believe DTease is just having his little joke at Mick's error in his sentence structure......:-)
I wouldn't worry unduly about losing your faculties DTease. I'm constantly losing mine. They usually turn up down the back of the sofa, along with the t.v. remote and a couple of stray ginger nuts. There's probably stuff down there that I haven't seen for years. Only the other day I found a fluffy Werther's original, firmly attached to a Lithuanian passport. It can turn into quite an adventure going down there at times I can tell you....Fancy a trip to the Baltic States mate? Seems a shame to let a perfectly good passport go to waste.
Nice photo, Jane.
Pity there is not many people in the mall. In Canada, the Malls are usually packed.
I suspect Fred as a point Dave Oy.
Wigan Council give them planning permission.
'The malls' in the UK are usually packed too. Just not this one.
I like it!
Rev David,I don't think it's the same throughout the country the northern towns seem to be hit far more than the south ,my sister lives in Chelsea ,they don't seem to be doing to badly with there spending , or is it still the great north south devide.
