Waterfall
Photo: Harry Cunlife (Panasonic DMC-FZ38)
Nice shot. I always thought that Fairy Glen was in Hall Lane, Appley Bridge?? Never heard of the one in Haigh Plantations, but who am I.
Lovely wintery photo, you can almost feel the icy water.
Not been up there in years, brilliant photo, shown me what I,m missing, will have to make a trip.
That is very nice, ...poetic license
Don't worry Garry, I'm sure someone will tell you who you are.
Our Garry is 'yon mon' who sups sherry and sits in front of a roaring fire.....and sometimes presides over Wigan World!! His bark is worse than his bite!!!
My sister who now lives in Staffordshire asks me regularly ,is there only one place in Wigan to take countryside photos, there always seem. To be a lot of one place ie haigh hall.
Im lost on this photo
We all know who Garry is, we all love him.
Good grief Mick not you as well? Garry doesn't know who he is, you don't know where you are. Are they putting something in the water?
I cant see you either Mick, you're really lost. I'm with Garry on this, i've been around over 75 years and i've only heard of one Fairy Glen, the one near Wrightington / Parbold.
Jonno, your're not alone look at the original photo 4th March 2010 and scroll down to Davids comment. cheers, and thanks to every one for your interest and comments. there are also directions Mick. H.
'Fairy Glen' ? surely that's in the I.O.M. and if you don't say hello to the fairies your in trouble.
The Fairy Glen that I knew was not far from the River Douglas.
Your photo from 2010 looks superb with all those Harts Tongue ferns Harry, now all gone, hopefully they will (or be allowed to) grow back.
