Grotesque
One of the PAD posters posed for that carving, can you guess who ?
Was it Gar Goyl?
Alan, you can't be thinking of Mick can you
How strangely appropriate it is that this creature is covered in moss!...Great capture!
There are so many grumpy old men out there so it's anyone's guess !
Garry ?
I believe Grotesques with their closed mouths are more artistic ornamentation. Gargoyles on the other hand with their open mouths were devised as water spouts - the fiercer the better to ward off evil spirits in medieval times.
Nice photo. As to the face, I could model for this when I view the content of some of the modern Wigan photos
I could also model for this when I am avoiding clipboarders and chuggers. Nice clear piccy.
The 'nowty' face doesn't appear to have an effect on warding the pigeons off! Forgot to say what a good picture it is!
He looks like a Wigan Athletic Fan at full time.
Now hang on a minute, I'm not grumpy far from it, I'm a very nice man of good character. You've made me a little sad....double sherry for me tonight in front of me roaring coal fire.
Garry;-I like this comment of yours, it speaks well of you.
Don't sup it all Gazza, I'll be round in a bit. I'm just soaking me feet and clipping me toenails. I've got a bit of Brie and half a packet of Ritz crackers left over from Christmas, shall I bring them with me ?
Cheers Ellen x
Only need my dog for company, Ozy.
Looks a lot like Trump to me!
