Excuse my ignorance, but what is,or are, the High Ropes?

Perhaps these two could get together with Boris Johnson, the three of them hanging from a wire is a sight I would pay good money to see.

Hard hats for the opening, now we are going over the top. They must feel silly being dressed up aswell.

I don't think the hats are PPE , such as you would find on building sites for instance Garry, I think they're what the kids have to wear when they pay to go on the thing. If you notice, it says PETZL on the front of hats. I believe the company specialises in manufacturing sporting goods rather than safety equipment.

Ellen Wigan Council have built a new play area at Haigh hall and part of this is were you can walk on high ropes and look over the trees in the background

PeterP, Many thanks for the elucidation!!

If I was the Mayor I would have worn my gold watch so it matched my chain

PETZL are one of the world's largest makers of industrial safety wear, including hard hats. All our shipyard site teams and all the Classification Societies (Lloyds, DNV,BV etc) use PETZL. The advantage using a hard hat without a peek in that the users vision upwards is not rerstricted.

They should get rid of unelected Mayor/esses, elected Mayors who can actually do something ok, these just prance about looking important when they're absolutely not...

Mick, if you was Mayor Wigan would be in a worse state than it is now.
