What a fabulous photo. Would you allow us to share it onto the St. Peter's Facebook page please?

Hi Andrew, do you know if the Schultze organ is playable? Last I heard it was in dire need of an overhaul.

Comment by: Anne on 16th January 2016 at 11:44

Well done again Andrew. Doesn't the war memorial look like the Whitehall Cenotaph.

Comment by: Cynthia Taylor on 16th January 2016 at 12:33

Hi Nev. The Schultze organ is no longer in use and hasn't been for quite a while. There have been murmurs about restoring it, but the cost and maintenance is much too prohibitive - especially with all the other bills to be paid. We have another quite adequate organ which is used. We do have cds for sale which feature the organ and choir at a concert c1975.

Nice to have something a bit different. Thanks Andrew

Thanks folks.

Cynthia - thanks for asking - feel free to use how you like.

Ellen - indeed it was!

Mick - it does indeed. I was there a while and frozen at the end of it!

Nev - as Cynthia mentions it's sadly no longer in use. To give you an idea of costs, Manchester cathedral is having their organ redone with a cost of several million quid. Ouch!
