I have always admired this particular view myself, we are lucky to have such a variety of both town and country views in Wigan

That really is a lovely perspective, Great photo!

It would appear that it pays to complain.

Comment by: Alan on 16th October 2015 at 15:50

The thing is Jonno your right, and Mick's photos are all the same.

Comment by: Garry on 16th October 2015 at 15:59

Only if you live there AW.

Nice one Mick, carry on taking your photos, it would be a shame if there were no new shots for Wigan World.

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 16th October 2015 at 22:59

Can`t make out the Beacon, Mick.
Looking forward to seeing your video`s of New Zealand.

Neither can i Ernest, is it under the lampshade ?

Comment by: Mick on 17th October 2015 at 06:20

Ernest the beacon is always hidden behind trees now, I was up there a few weeks ago and you can hardly make your way up from the beacon pub there are that many trees growing.

At one time the beacon was always open and you could see the BBC lorry parked up there transmitting the signal when Liverpool or the Grand national was on the telly

Alan I would disagree with you about Mick's photos all being the same.

To be honest I would say he is one of the regular contributors to Photo of the day that you never know what your going to get and all the photos he sends in can be come from all over Wigan.

Only thing he is could be known for being the same is non of his photos are touched up as though its in a photo competition
