Lovely photo Ron, autumn nearly upon us when you see pictures like this. The yellow flowers centre picture, are these 'Ragwort' I think they may be, toxic and capable of making any animal seriously poorly if they nibble on it. I love the sky this picture captures it beautifully.

Walt yes it is ragwort, and you are right it is potentially fatal to cattle and horses in particular. It's amazing the Government is putting so much effort into badger culling when ragwort is much more widespread. I now live in Somerset and it is a real problem weed.

I remember the Forestry Commission planting the trees on the old Wutchie in 1964.
The slag has certainly broken down.
A good shot from the Springs side. I knew it from the Aspull side.
