Lower Ince Police station could do with a face-lift like this, been shut for years.

I was assigned to NCB Summersales colliery from Old Boston Training Centre at Haydock in 1963. I visited this place with Jack Shaw the then electrical engineer at Summersales.
From what I could gather at the time there was some emergency response equipment connected directly to Summersales in case of any site disaster.
At 17yrs old and a trainee, it was all a strange adventure to me lol.

Dougie, what about the building next door, used to be the school dentist/clinic, is it still there.. I always thought it would have made a nice private home, I loved the front garden with the Privacy wall....

Britboy, nice to see you haven't totally disappeared ... :-)

Janet the police station has been converted to flats and the dentist is now a private residence

No car parking with those double-yellow lines!

I bet there are a lot of cars parked opposite though.

The old police station - but not the oldest police station in Ashton.
