Photo-a-Day (Tuesday, 2nd December, 2014)
Interesting photo Mick. What is the far horizon, do you know??
Really like this one Mick. Intelligent shot. Thank you.
Unusual shot. All the crossing straight lines, wires, twigs, concrete, tree trunks & even another straight road (?) in the far distance....almost monochrome, as I said unusual.
I don't know where this is but I love the picture!
is that Winter Hill on the horizon?
the old twenty bridges looking over toward rivvy .
Looking at the photograph it appears to me to be the Viaduct that carries the M6 Motorway over the Douglas Valley. Very unusual shot but interesting
So thats Rivington Pike in the distance! Been there a few times for dances and socials. And Winter Hill was early transmission site for TV.
looks like it was viewed off wigan lane near boars head.
Good one Mick.
That is looking over Darwin and not Rivington which is to the right.
Garry, Mick must have a brilliant camera, Darwin is in Australia, you meant Darwen didn't you? Just having a bit of fun Garry, you got the two muxed ip. Well Mick where DID you take this interesting photo? i'm with Stan, it has to be on or around Wigan Lane
It was taken from the grass verge opposite Walter Scott Ave
Nothing like this in Darwin
Thanks Roy..Darwen in Lancshire.
It's an age thing.
Best time of year to take this pic Mick, no leafs on trees.
Lancashire...dear dear my spelling.
You're excused Garry, as you said it's your age.
Is it possible to cross that Viaduct on foot?
No Phil it's gated at each end.
Roy, safety reasons? I would have thought Mick, the Rev, Aubrey and Albert could have given we ignorant people greater insight . Where did it go or connect to? Is now dangerous so sealed off. Does anyone know more about this viaduct? Just interested about some now left to decay that once was
