War Memorial
Photo: Andrew Fishburn (Canon EOS 6D)
I saw lists of the fallen of Platt Bridge on two wooden plaques in the sanctuary of St Nat's when I celebrated Communion there on Sunday.
Rev, are you the Vicar of St Nats now?
Andrew, where in PB is this located?
Thank you so much for this. it was the only time of the year when people from all the churches in Platt Bridge came together. I am little vague on the exact spot, I think the road to the right would be Neville Street. It was very close to Liverpool Road also.
Nice to see this looking tidier than last time I saw it.
So many memories of Remembrance Day when I was in the Brownies and Guides at St Nats. Particularly marching down to the British Legion Club in the evening and marching back with them for the evening service.
The names used to be read from those two wooden plaques in the past.
Keep up, Garry - I'm retired. I was just standing in for an ex-colleague taking a well-earned break.
The Memorial is at the junction of Neville Street (to the right, as maggie says) and Davies Street (in view) with Liverpool Road, which is behind Andrew.
Yes I know you've retired Rev, thats my point. Many people who are still active and in good health want to carry on working even though they'd retired after a short while...people sometimes can't adjust to retirement. Thanks Rev.
Maggie, you are correct as to location, junction Neville St/Davies St.
You can use the website http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html
