Glossy Ibis
I would not like to tangle with that beak, good photo.
Thought it were a New Zealander....
ha..
Where was this taken, Alex?
Good pic by the way.
Hadeda Ibis, extremely common and noisy bird here in South Africa.
interesting!
Thanks Fred. It seems to have taken a liking to foraging in a horse paddock in Hindley.
We have them here too....the black headed or sacred Ibis....nice pic Alex...cheers!!!
Fantastic photo Alex, very interesting.
"again im not getting it" has this picture been sent over from lizzie down under ? it could be any where in the world this piccy . maybe wigan world should change its name to globel world...post them on a rspb site if you want to look at birds
Right place, right time. Well spotted Alex nice shot
The closest I have seen one of these to Wigan was a flock of fourteen on the Fylde coast, several years ago.
this bird has been seen on the land close to the iron bridge in Hindley ,top end of ladies lane ,its been seen by my neighbour ,
I agree with Dirty Harry...could be anywhere! Lets look at Wigan from the passed, things what we remember.
To Dirty Harry & Garry stop being so narrow minded! If you'd like to see Wigan from the past then I suggest you recall the spelling and grammar lessons at school and relive those, then perhaps you may improve your written English! Clearly too uneducated to appreciate a good photo & take it at face value!
Wigan wench, sssshhhhh.
Nice one Wigan girl!
