Ashfield House
This brings back memories of my school days, when Ashfield house was a clinic ,I hated going there,Allen you and I had to go ffor eye test,do you remember getting drops in your eyes ,and a patch over one eye,the only thing good about it was not being able to do school work.It still looks the same as I rember it .
No good feelings for Ashfield House....the dentist chair in that bay window....ouch....
On the other hand good pic Alan....cheers!!!
Used to be our dentist.
Used to work as a shorthand typist in the Clerks department in the 1960's. Learned to ride my two wheeler bike on the lawns at the front of the house luckily we never got caught.
Used to roll down the bank there with my sisters....kids having fun....cheers!!!
Owners submitted plans to turn this into appartments. Anyone know if the plans were passed?
I remember playing football on the front lawns to the left of this picture. Lawns surounded by rosebeds that were kept like bowling greens. Coats used for goalposts. One eye on the game and one eye on the road looking out for " Parkie " in his little blue van. One sight of him and it was grab your jumper and head for the coalhills ;)
another comment gone awall, anyroad had some fricknin dreams under that dentist gas .
