If this is an image of Wigan then surely that cannot be Moel Famau in the distance? Moel Famau is much further away, in Wales.
I'm lost. give me a clue ..
The pic's been edited a bit to fit the P-a-D format - a bit more of the church is on the original. Brian may put a more full- on view of it I'd sent earlier on another day.
Could the hill in the background be Billinge Beacon?

Kath it's St Teresa's Catholic Church (far right with green roof tower), Upholland. It's looking towards Hall Green, Upholland. The brown field is where they have filled in the stone quarry in College Rd. Wouldn't be surprised if they build on it eventually. Lovely area around Roby Mill.
I think Rev David I right about Moel Famau. Look at images on google.
I think the cottage/house bottom left on the photo is Dean House Farm on Lafford Lane, photo view SSW, giving St Teresa's off to the right and Billinge Hill off to the left of the photo.
