Where we used to run the 100yds and 220yds races on our school sports day...interesting to see how it is now.

That is a really nice photo.Hope it is all well looked after by the youngsters who use it.
My dad used to take me with him to watch the cricket in the fiftes but I can`t remember where it was ?

Those buildings in the trees at the top right corner, were they once the labour exchange ( or something like that).

KenR, I hink you're referring to "The Huts" (tax office)on Bridgeman Terrace, which was opposite the top righthand corner of the playing field, not on the pic.
Where the trees are is a dentist surgery & private houses. there was a small grandstand there in years gone by

I remember that dentist well,I had a filling there then went and got Lynne the dental assistant to ring up for my GCSE results from school...TLS... what a crap morning that was .
Where the boy is standing with his raised arm is the position of the long/ triple jump pit during athletics meetings at TLS.
And the square brick building that used to stand in the far corner was a squash court as I rememeber

The building in the corner used to be a fives court, some weird sport the Grammar school lads used to play.
