There were a number of pubs in New Springs, Starting from the Boundary Was the Free Trade on the right, then the Prince of Wales, Next was the Royal,Tetley house? corner of Chapel St, Hext on the left IS the Crown,Burtonwood house Then over the canal on the right was the Bridge Inn Could have been Almonds brewery house?, across the road is The Packet House, then the Colliers Arms,& finaly at the top of the hill is on the right The Ivy, It was turned into offices years ago for John Gaffney? builders, Not sure what it is now. Hope this helps

Derek Platt; Don`t you know there are search engines? You can find the answers to your questions yourself.
Interesting to go back to the first days of pad and see how few comments there is compared to today.
Nice one Ron
Now! Now! Ernest, everyone is not as smart as you!!!
Yes Jimmy, it once was Allen Brothers. one of 'em from Shevvy lived across the road from me, now deceased. His son still lives there..
Cheers Art, I thought it was.
Ron D ,I thought you might have been a relation of jack dawber,
I was born in this house in October 1959. We lived in the flat next to Gaffney's Offices. I lived there till we moved out 5 days before my 5th birthday.
