My goodness.....that scene hasn't changed since I was last there in about 1960, apart from the burglar alarm on (what was) the lock keeper's cottage.

I have probably said this before, but I have such happy memories of going up the flight on a summer Sunday afternoon. I was doing the locking and so I met such lovely chatty people. Thak you for this.

Mick I looked on you tube as you suggested and saw your video from Top Lock to Wigan Pier. It brought back some wonderful memories for me.
Could you please let me know what the beautiful music was that you chose to accompany the video.

Comment by: Mick on 14th February 2013 at 12:26

Margaret the beautiful music is by John Barry and is called Moviola.

Comment by: Margaret Wall on 14th February 2013 at 13:09

Thanks Mick. John Barry did write some beautiful music scores, e.g theme to Born Free, Dances with Wolves and many many more. His death was a sad loss to the film and music world.
All this of course is irrelevant to Photo-a Day but it's easy to get a bit carried away at times. My apologies!
