Photo-a-Day (Saturday, 24th November, 2012)
Black Bull
Great picture Alan, very proud with the flags, and a cold day, everyone rugged up. As I am writing this it is over 30degC here, very nearly summer, yes I know it is really confusing. My new son-in-law is spending his first Christmas here with no snow!!! Cheers!!
I prefer snow at Christmas, they both go together. After saying that, I don't mind a bad winter if we could guarantee a lovely hot summer. Enjoy the heat Lizzy.
Four week from now, it's Chrismas Eve...have you all done your Christmas shopping?
I was here only recently with a friend from London whose great-uncle's name is on one of the banners, We came to see them last year and take a photo but they had been taken down and the people in the pub went to the trouble of getting the banners out of storage just so my friend could photograph his great-uncle's mame. Well done the staff at The Black Bull!
Many, many years ago Location of one of my first pints. Under age in the tap room and in walks a police officer. Turned out he was a Salvation Army officer collecting for Christmas. We were so relieved we put almost all of our money in the collection box. Good times. Thanks for the pic Alan
Brian I remember the same thing happening to me and my mates every time the Salvation army came into the pub.
Yes Colin I will enjoy the heat, but not too much of it as like most people I just hibernate in our lounge with the air conditioning, we are tipped for 37deg by next Thursday!!! Air conditioning here I come!!! Cheers!!
