Pennington Flash
Photo: Janice Freeman (Nikon D3100 f11 1/30sec)
Lovely photo. Wish I was there. Not too hard to believe Janice, when you have worked underground you see all the subsidence from a different perspective.
Could some one tell me what the minimum wage is in the UK (WIGAN)
What a lovely picture, so green, hard to believe that it is created by mining subsidence!!!! Lovely Janice, cheers!!
A very peaceful scene, Janice. Photo can`t be recent, as no autumn tints? At first glance, the water in the gap between the trees, looks like a waterfall!
For Ken (comment yesterday at 15:30), this is in Leigh. For info on Pennington Flash see my comment on P-a-D 30th Sept.`12.
This photo is short of a duck, swan, man in a boat.
Taken around mid September Ernest. Can see what you mean about the waterfall! Mick, don't wish to be rude but your constant negativity (attempts at sarcasm?)are becoming boring I am afraid.
Thanks Janice, if you look from a short distance away, the `waterfall`is more prominent.
I go around that part often in the Summer and the trees in the distance are on what was a landfill ( or tip ) and shows what you can achieve if you try !
Very nice Janice, you wouldn't think when you walk round Pennington flash you were only a short distance from Leigh town centre.
Lovely shot, and just shows Beauty can come from the Beast. keep up the great piccys
Michael Davies AUS the minimum rates of pay as of oct 1st 2012 are , 21 and over £6-19 , 18 to. 20 £4-98 under 18 £3-68. Apprentices. £2-65 under 19 or in their first year ,then above rates apply , these are obviously hourly rates
I can definately see what you mean Ernest. Even if you look directly at the water between the trees, it looks like a wide waterfall. It's a strange optical illusion.
Nice photo Janice!
Ernest your right the water in the middle of the photo looks lower well spotted I wonder whats making it look like that.
Nice shot, like the hdr processing.
HDR processing Jeff whats that when its at home.
Mick, I`ve never heard of HDR but all I did was go on Google and Wikipedia gives the info on ;-

Just had a look Ernest maybe thats why the waters looking bent.
Never ever seen a "waterfall" on a still water flash.
Mind you some would have us paddlin' uphill on't village pond next..;o)
