Ron,a very interesting photogragh,I don't think I have ever seen a group of orthodox Jewish people in Wigan before,it's quite a common sight in areas of Manchester and Leeds.and no doubt in other citys with large
Jewish communitys
Is that the hanging garden of Babylon? A good interesting shot on a nice sunny day.
Very smartly dressed, but I don't think hes got the right clothes on to be riding a bike..
Could comment but would be accused of racism !!
Eon, did you select this from the several photo`s you no doubt took?
There a funny lot these Jews but they make nice tasty chicken soup and bake nice bread.
Julie, he`s no bicycle clips on his trousers either.
Mick will be disappointed that he can`t see more of the bike !!
Every summer they come ,some times by the coach load, Ive spoke to a few ,they are always pleasant, and sociable.
I wouldn't say that the orthodox Jews are 'a funny lot' just because they keep themselves to themselves and dress a little differently from the rest of us Mick. They are just ordinary people living their lives. Where I live, there are Menonite communities who dress differently but they are hard working people who live peacefully along side everyone else.
They'll not change the way they dress, Julie.
Just a family, like the rest of us, enjoying a sunny day at Haigh Hall. I have always found them to be pleasant people and I hope they had a good day.
Nice Shot Ron, how is it you always get the best shots
I've come in contact with them a few times, they always seem very pleasant and courteous people.
Some kind and tolerant comments about these people, lovely. I'm just wondering what the comments would have been if they had been a group of muslims wearing Burkas?
They're human beings just like anyone else. Its just a pity that they (the Jews) and the Muslims, tend to consider themselves Jews or Muslims instead of just plain human beings.
Thanks Billy, my point exactly.
