The two yellow stripped lines on the kirb/pavement, what do they mean.

Comment by: Ron D on 25th July 2012 at 08:32

Garry .One means no parking ,the other means no parking at all,and the third no parking at all at all.

If any of those where photos of you are a member of your family you would feel very proud.

Garry the two little yellow lines mean no loading or unloading at any time if its just one line it means no loading or unloading at the times shown on the sign at the side of the road

Olympics...Waste of time, money and energy.
Money could be MUCH better spent elsewhere.

Comment by: Ferg on 25th July 2012 at 16:41

No doubt you 'could' have spent your money elsewhere then buying a computer, getting the internet and sitting about complaining about the olympics.. but hey, who is to argue what your earnings go on? :)

The rise of obesity in the UK is costing the NHS over £4 billion a year. This is due to our ever sedate lifestyles, I'd imagine that inspiring the younger generations to put down their Nintendo DS and go run around outside will in turn reduce those costs, free up money for people who need it more and benefit everyone. Still, haters gonna hate.

Ernest Pyke, it's not people going to bed late and getting up early, many of us are in different time zones. At this moment it is10.40 am where I am, but about 6.40 pm in Wigan.

Another excuse to hide a eyesore!!! Wigan have become very good at this!!!! Have you seen so many roadworks? Anyone would think the olympic relay is going to be through ths place!!!!!

Comment by: Allan on 25th July 2012 at 20:12

I agree the Olympics farce is a waste of money which most people have no idea what its real purpose is about. Nothing wrong with sports, good on em, but it's the ridiculous security measures and military troops that is crazy and all for what? because of this so-called terrorist threat, which in tern will used as an excuse for more restrictions of freedoms and changes in law.

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 25th July 2012 at 22:45

I`m well aware of that alan - ellen mentioned it on P-a-D at 20:43 on 22nd July`12.

David Grindley is on one of the pictures off shot, he was an olympic runner and lives local.

Spend the money on the sciences. Technology, modern useful things.
Invest it in new schools in Wigan.
The list is endless.
Folk dying every minute in the world. Yet billions are wasted on useless, needless enterprises.
Competitive sport is pointless.
Just another Big Brother rouse to keep the populace under control. Keep 'em 'happy' Oblivious more like.
