Thats is somewhat striking. Thinking about people of my age and experience, we didn't get this kind of attention. Is this a boost for the student or the teachers???
I am not sorry if I have stepped on anyone toes.

There are several video`s of this school on You Tube.
A photo of Rose Bridge, in the early 1950`s, is in Places in Album. Comment by Rev David Long mentions his first vehicle. irene roberts and aitch also comment.
I take it, Tom, that this sloping view was deliberate and you weren`t drunk !!

"Care, guidance and support ARE outstanding", surely.

They don't quote the Ofsted Report when it says, "Students’ overall attainment in GCSE examinations with Mathematics and English included is low."

The Report grades pupils' attainment as 4 (the lowest grade), which equates to "inadequate" in Ofsted terms.

I spent a bit of time at Rose Bridge, and live on an Ince council estate, but I know my Grammar as well as my spelling and pronunciation of words, unlike Mick who seems to have a penchant for name calling, mostly it seems against council tenants, but if it is the thing that makes his day well and good, but one thing I have noticed about Rose Bridge, is the amount of car parking spaces on the premises, I saw the school from Google earth and counted well over 100 spaces, mostly being used, so how many staff are employed there, surely not so many.

Education is an issue for grave concern nowadays, I have seen graduates with a standard of literacy and numeracy that would have appalled a primary school teacher in my day.

MICK!!!! if you walk outside most (if not all) high schools at 1 point when the kids are coming out, you will hear some kids swearing, see them smoking, even possibly takin 'mild' drugs!!! Another 'wigan school'for example have had kids either suspended or expelled for dealing drugs, smoking, swearing at teachers, bullying etc over the years...
NO SCHOOL IS PERFECT!!!! (unfortunately)

You talk utter bilge, Mick.
Rose Bridge is a great school with excellent pupils.
All the place needs is a new building.

It was great to see the Olympic torch take a rest bite at this location on the relay's route through the borough. Seems like ages ago (well, it was!)

Bigoted fool, every high school in Wigan has good and bad. Don't tar the decent majority with the same brush as the few indisciplined ones.
Aitch: " I saw the school from Google earth and counted well over 100 spaces, mostly being used"
Erm, no you didn't!
