Nuthatch
Photo: John Burns (Sony Alpha A55 SLT ,SIGMA 70-300 LENS + Sony Remote Control)
This type of photo shouldn`t be in Wigan World as it`s nothing to do with Wigan
Ernest, if the Nuthatch was photographed in Wigan, or in the surrounding area, then it has everything to do with Wigan. Why don't you show us all what pictures you would like to see here by submitting a few photographs of your own?
Hugh, I only wish I could !!
Ernest would prefer to look at tits, not nuthatches. Well, untill they catch him.
totally uncalled for !!!
good picture John.
I think this is a great shot of something beautiful Well done.
This is the real Maggie. This is a great picture, presumably shot in Wigan by someone from Wigan. Well done!
Its not everyday you see a Nuthatch.
I am Maggie, and so is my Wife!
Great photo John,I've seen a few nuthatches in my friends garden at Gathurst.Never seen any in my neck of the woods.
Another cracker John good detail, plenty nuthatches at the hide in Haigh Hall Plantations ,I agree with Bren, regarding Ernest comment.
Its a wildlife photo,we live in Wigan were surrounded with wildlife,at Pennington Flash ,Haigh Hall ,Scotsmans Flash,Orrell Water Park,Worthing Lakes, even your back garden need I go on.
David Barker, I think Bren is referring to Maggie`s comment about me. Bren will you confirm?
Great photo, John. It isn't a bird that i have seen in the flesh before.
I wonder if you do any post capture processing with your shots? I suspect you could lift the Levels to give it additional vibrancy, and a bit of sharpening on the feathers.
andrew , no idont use anything ,what you see is what you get , i tend to take around thirty or so shots, then pick out the best .
Great picture John, Ernest, humans aren't the only things living in Wigan, go round town on Friday or Saturday night and you will see what I mean!
Confirmed Ernest ! no need for smut !!
Thanks Bren. How about an apology David Barker?
I apologise Ernest,I thought Bren was referring to your 1st comment, but the there's no reason this photo of Johns shouldn't be on here as I said in my comment.
I had never seen a nuthatch until we moved to Shevington. These birds are more common than sparrows in our garden. Beautiful little birds.
