Meadow Brown
Lovely clear photo, you can see all the details of the wings tip. Can never get close enough. Well done you.
Brilliant photo Janice, can I at the risk of upsetting some contributors to the site ask you what settings you used on your camera. I have recently bought a D3100 which is my first SLR and am still trying to get my head round it all.
I think someone should do a calendar made up of photos that have appeared on this site......this would definately be one of them.
Good detail Janice ,what lens did you use on the D3100?.
Thanks for your comments folks, I am very new to photography and enjoying learning. Hopefully I will have more time soon as I will retire sometime in the next month.
Geoff and David - this is also my first SLR and I love it. I used AF-S NIKKOR 55-200mm 1:4 5.6 ED VR. Setting was on auto as I needed to capture fairly quickly - more good luck than good management Geoff!
That a nice shot!
It's a Gatekeeper (Hedge Brown) not a Meadow Brown. And it's a male :-)
Good detail. You might be interested in using a Nikon 35mm 1.8 DX lens for a shallow depth of field. they sell for about £150.
Thanks David, I will have a look at that.
