Woodpecker
Photo: Rev David Long (Konica Minolta Dynax 7D)
What a great photo.lovely.
Great shot. It's unusual to catch these birds. You have to be quick.
Slightly out of focus. To get a good shot, you should focus on the eye, but you have to be quick to catch it.
You appear to have focussed on the wing to get a quick shot. Well done.
I used to always dream of seeing a Woodpecker when I was young and used to admire them from the label of Bulmars Woodpecker cider.
And even today Ive only seen a couple but I heard more of them pecking.
As luck would have it, out of the dozen or so shots I took in this one its head wasn't bouncing as it pecked at the bread!
Seen them at the top of trees, to far away to take a photo but never on the ground like this.
But focusing on the eye would only give you an overall sharp image if you have sufficient depth of field in front as well as behind.
That is a real nice photo...lovely colours.
