At last a picture that is recognisably Wigan and not Platt Bridge, Aspull or some rural scene or wildlife that could be anywhere.

What a difference to the days of the 1950's and 60's when there were long, dark, dank tunnels leading under the railway lines to the platforms.

Very good photo. Although the rural photos were absolutely lovely, it is nice to see 'Wigan'also.

Good to see the station from a different perspective.

Platt Bridge. Aspull, Hindley etc are part of Wigan. It would be pretty boring if we only had pictures of Wigan itself.

Great picture Brian.

Good Shot of the Station.
David, I dont think so, I am guessing that the Iron Bridge is behind that new building, the walkway to the bridge has been changed.????

the old iron bridge as long gone the new one runs behind the car park and looking at the angle of the photo it looks like it were taken from the old freemasons building???? still a good picture though
