Rooftops
Photo: David Barker (Nikon D3000 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G VR.)
Thanks David for this good shot. I was married at St Catherines, and my mother-in-law lived in those flats at one time. It looks a grey day out there.
What a grim view.
another pointless picture..... you guys need to become better at your hobby. pics this year are aweful!
daniel
you can do one of two things
either put some pics up yourself or dont look
i think it looks good for a historical pic of wigan, its a view you wouldnt normally see
Why is it a pointless picture? I've lived in Wigan all my life but have never seen this veiw.
well put peter. pic must have been good enough for him to take time to comment.Pics this year have been fantastic, thanks to everyone who takes time to put them on.
not a cone in sight
i like pics like this, give you alot to look at, pics have been great all year, pretty ignorant comment daniel, if you dont like dont look, simple
To me there are three different reasons for taking pictures, beauty, interest and record. If you have the opportunity to combine all three, thank your lucky stars. Two and you you are still doing well. Just one, take the picture anyway because if you don't you will regret it. If you thought it was worth taking, share it and disregard the knockers of this world.
Thankyou for your comments, and thanks John Morris ,the reason for the photo it was taken from high up so you get a different view you dont normally see as dave johnson's pointed out.
Dave[ I think its a great view .Good one.
Great picture David and as Dave Johnson says, never seen our town before from this view.
These pictures in general aren't meant to be artisitic (though some are. They are a reflection of the pride (in some cases) that the photographer feels. In other cases they are acting as photo journalists capturing issues they see or simply preserving a historical record. Keep up the good work. For those of us who don't get back much it helps us keep in touch in some small way.
Re. Daniel's comment.I, for one, like to see pics like this, to see how Wigan looks, since I haven't seen it "in the flesh" in forty years. As for pointless, it is less so, than the previous day's picture. (Which,by the way,I commented most favourably on. As many others have said, these photo's reflect upon our common heritage, and should be valued as such. I continue to be very grateful that I "found" Wiganworld and Photo a Day.
Well, i didnt like the photo thats why i commented on it...duh! and for all of you saying the pics this year have been great...please there are pics on here of roundabouts, and lot are repeat shots at different angles, thanks!
Daniel, go away in short jerky movements. The photo's are great especially for those of us a long way from 'home '
Same here, Bob.
Daniel, why are you always so negative???
And when are you going to post one of your so called better pictures on here?????
