lovely old Church these old buildings have some lovely features
Do you have a 'before' photo?
Yes I have CarolG ,but with all the scaffolding round it.
I drive past here daily and saw them pointing the wall at the front. Didn't realise they'd done the whole church. Let's hope the church is still there in 100 yrs time, no matter what it's used as.
Thanks David.
is the cone glued down
Thanks for comments ,ps dot com is a mate of mine just having a laugh.
beautiful church, great memories,of my great grandfather, who was the caretaker in the 60s,Stephen Whittle,he also used to pass around the collection plates at mass, when it cameto us kids he would put caramel on as we put our money on.
So nice to see such a nice church in good condition. Such a shame to see the church disappearing like they are. I remember when I was a child my mum taking me to church. People used to go in there dozens. Thanks for the memories Dave
Thanks David, my sister was married in this church and I still have a photo of my Mum stood in that gateway.
I go past on Tuesday nights and two men are doing the gardens. They seem to keep them pretty tidy for saying there is only two of them
Forty two years ago this August we were married in this church, Father Mariorty was the priest, a fine man!. Myself and my wife attended Mass here two weeks ago on one of our visits back to where we grew up, we have lived over in Yorkshire for the past 28yrs so its great to come back now and then. Look at Wiganworld, Aspull Our Ladys school, we have recently posted two photos you may find interesting if you grew up in the village and attended Our Ladys school back in the 50s.
