Watch the birdie...
cute and colourfull.
Lovely birdies, well worth the watching! Such beautiful colours.(Oops my north american english computer is telling me I didn't use the "correct" spelling for colours)y40kr
We only had one pet in our family, approx.60 years ago. It was a budgie & when Joey died, we all cried ! How many have you David?
Brings back memories used to have a aviary myself, nice colours.
In 1955 when I was the Saturday boy in the pet shop up The Wiend, cock budgies were 10 shilling and hens 7/6p.I expect they were a lot 'cheeper'then.
You would be lucky if you can buy a budgie fron a pet shop for less than £20
great picture David I remember looking at them when I came to care for your mum beautiful colours
Lovely, We had both Budgie's and Canary's when I was young, but I haven't seen a budgie or a canary in years..
Used to have about 50 down to 22 at the moment Ernest ,breed them since 1992 ,just a hobby be pairing them up in the spring. The Aviary 30ft long so plenty room.
Had to go into the flight to take the photo then i wouldnt get the wire mesh in front of lens.
Thanks everyone, glad you like them ,thanks June
I like the way budgies chatter, it sounds so peaceful. I wouldn't keep one in a cage though, that aviary sounds very good David, plenty of room for them to fly around.
In the words of Billy Bradshaw - mam can I have a budgie.
we had a beautifull pure white budgie in the 50s to 60s joey he talked all the time he was quite old when he died he had this great big lump on his back and my dad told us he had to be put to sleep, my unle came and turned the gas cooker on and put him in,i will never forget that we were all crying
