You have definitely more snow than we have
Another beautiful photo :)
Wowww... shall I be there next Dec/Jan? I want to experience what it's like.. :D
The best winter scene so far. Great photo
Hopefully the snowman is in the middle of the mini-roundabout!
snowman built on mini island note sign on left, new meaning to traffic calming measures.
Nice one.Good composition .Tels a story .I agree with A Parr. Best winter scene. Well done.
You have really captured the season.
I love it, love it, love it....I am so envious, wish I could be there to enjoy it. Great photo!!!
These snow scenes are absolutely fabulous to see, from a detached comfortable position!
But I remember the Slush when it thaws, then trying to manage walking over the frozen slush.
Many an elderly person broke thier ankles trying to negotiate these frozen obstacles.
I left Wigan in 1966 and now reside in Australia, tomorrow will be 36 degrees.
I'll have a swim, enjoy a few beers and remember ever so vividly why I left Wigan in the first place.
Don't misunderstand me, Wigan is a great town, but believe me, God was showing off when he made Australia.
Sheeda,(Singapore) you seem totally besotted with Wigan.
Please, go there to Live for a few years, don't ramble on about how jealous you are, go and live there and fulfil your lifes ambition.
I am a Wiganer Through and Through and to all Wiganers, I wish you all the very best, that the new year can bring.
Believe me I remember oh so well!
Gorgeous photo. Pouring with rain here and very miserable. Please keep the photos coming. Take care.......
lovely picture, but soooooo dangerous now its solid ice, would like to be were you are sid.
Thanks for your advice, Syd.
I might just do that.
Thanks for your best wishes Syd and the same to you from all of us in snowed up Wigan.I've been to Singapore and Australia, enjoyed both very much. What I like about the UK is its diversity.I've spent a lot of time in the sun[a place in Spain for 20 odd years]but it can get tiresome.I dont mind four seasons in one day as Bob Hope said.
I,m so glad that my comments were taken in the good spirit that they were intended.
Sheda, go for it! don't die wondering, if you've concluded that Wigan could be your Shangri-la, go there and have the time of your life.
Roy you are so right, I lived in Queensland for about a year, the relentless sunny days nearly drove me nuts.
I live in Melbourne where you truly do get 4 seasons in one day.
I've just read that the temperature
in Wigan is minus 15 degrees C.
Now you know why I came to Australia, take care everyone, and be good to one another.
See Yah!
Syd.
Syd...I wanna thro up...Ive been to Melbourne ..its where my sister has lived for 30plus years..They dont like us POMS...and I dont think its Gods Country!!
A Bolton, I've had no problems in Melbourne being a "Pom" and I dare to suggest that neither has your sister (after 30 plus years).
Everyone to their own!
Take care of yourself and have a great new year:)
yOU TAKE CARE AS WELL SYD..SEE YOU IN ESSENDON IN NOVEMBER 2010
Didn't have a problem being a Pom in any of the places I visited in Oz very helpful and pleasant folk.Liked Melbourne very much Syd,Oct,Nov 2008.An horrendous tropical storm one aft/eve,never seen anything like it before and i've seen some good storms in Spain. But they managed to play at the MCG the following day.
