Photo: Judith Elsey, age 9 (Fuji Finepix A500)
Aigh, it's turned out nice again...
Well done, George.
Nice one Judith. The statue is where it rightly belongs proudly placed for all to see, and not hidden away down a back arcade where it was previously.
Well done Judith - good photograph, you have caught the mood, cheery!!
Pity someone can't give him a lamp post, Judith.
Very good photograph -really sharp detail.
Pity it`s not eight feet tall, as is Fred Dibnah`s statue in Bolton.
another good one!,a very clear image.i,ll look forward to your next one.

I agree with Ernest..George should be Eight foot tall and placed in the centre of Wigan..Or why not put him in Millgate and get rid of that scary,"ORRIBLE HEAD"!
Well said, A.Bolton...Talk about the face that sunk a thousand ships!...or should that be shops?! What an eyesore is that head in Millgate...and what on earth has it got to do with WIGAN? Apologies if this comment appears twice;think I entered wrong code.
I agree with Dave, he should have a lamp post, there should be heaps stacked away somewhere!!
I have not seen th ead yet, will be back in Wigan next year. We should have monuments to the coal miners now THAT is WIGANs, best in the world. Viv in OZ
Judith bet you didn't know this George lived 2 doors down from my Grandmother in Westminster St Scholes wigan
I was told by Grand Arcade staff to put away my camera as your not allowed to take pictures, if i did i would be removed from the premises.
