yep wigan pier,its the orwell aint it? what was this building used for before it became what it is?

This was a warehouse, goods were unloaded from canal barges on the other side, the WIGAN PIER rails were just a few yards away on the other side of the canal. I used to back a van into this building through the big double doors and load 168 lbs sacks of flour into it that came down a chute from upstairs together with a cloud of dust, then I delivered the load to the Bakery in Hindley,this was during the War. what an intersting little paragraph Eric, I remember it well, but never went in the building back then , I lived just over Seven Stars Bridge on the right hand side and often saw the vans as I was passing back and fore but had no idea what they were loadind , thanks for that .x
