It's a crying shame how many of Wigan's outstanding buildings have been allowed to fall into rack and ruin. If they had been on the opposite side of the Atlantic Ocean they would have been classed as national monuments.
Splendid news we just need the neglected park bringing up to 2009 standards now.
I see that it is listed Grade II - have English Heritage forced the Council to renovate?

I hope I,m wrong, someone told me its being converted to a Mosque
Unfortunately, in America we tear down old buildings, too... Glad to see that they are restoring this one.
If it is going to be a Mosque, at least its being put to good use, rather than being left like the ruin its been for decades!!
good to see its being restored , it would have been criminal to knock it down .
