I think it is a pity a old building like that is allowed to go into disrepair.
Looks as if it has a stor4vjxy to tell.
Try Again...Looks as if it has a story to tell.
am i right Brian in thinking this used to be the old peoples home on wigan lane.Must agree with comments made by Christine and Dave.
I think this used to be the home of the Wlliams family the pork butchers in Wigan.
I agree with previous comments, it is a crime to leave this building in this state. Are there any plans for future
renovation and useage? Does anyone know?
This house is next door but one to the Cherry Gardens. I believe plans have been submitted for flats (surprise, surprise!) and there has been a hitch somewhere along the line. There was quite a bit of interest in the local rag a few months ago but its gone quiet now... If and when I learn more I will post here.
It's further down from the Cherry Gardens, not further up. They started to strip the roof off the building to try to evade council tax, but were made to reinstall it. Ha! But, think of the council tax the council would get out of a few 'apartments' (read: flats), maybe they're cutting their own throat here.
