This is the best Wigan site I've come across, so much nostalgia, but modern stuff as well, and a great way to communicate with fellow Wiganers. It makes me feel I'm back home when I'm on the site; I visit it regularly to see what's been added. Great work Brian!

Looking for a recipe for Savoury Ducks

I am originally from Leigh and of course a lover of old Lancashire food. I have often wondered how to make Savoury Ducks and thought why not try the internet for a recipe. And that is how I found lqqk and the Wigan site. Thanks for the help, I just hope they taste okay.

Couldn't resist a site for Wigan - since that's where my dad and grandparents came from. So I am REALLY happy to hear you are going to add a genealogy page. I'll be back for sure! (Researching HITCHEN and HART)

Fantastic... what a brilliant site. I spend a lot of time chatting to a friend in Australia... it was really good to show her pictures of where I live... it added a new angle to our chat, and a few tales were told. This has been needed for ages!!!

Think this site is one of the best about Wigan i've seen, brilliant. I will take this opportunity to say i am currently researching my family history on the Westheads who originate from the Wigan and Ince areas especially Petticoat lane, i would love to make contact with any descendents who may be interested in their family history.

Do you know of any pictures that exist of the area off Manchester Road, the general area before the houses and Rose Bridge was built, including the allotments and/or the area known as the clarry? I'm trying to find some photos off this area, but am really struggling, any help would be really appreciated.
