I remember Tony Worswick donkeys years ago when he and Joe Fairhurst ran a discoteque at the Las Vegas club in King Street West.
I recall they had Rory Storme (of the Hurricanes) at one time - at the Las Vegas that is - doing the DJ'ing.
They had groups on and played soul music long before Wigan casino opened. They were great nights.
I remember the Las vegas soul disco. It was great. It was different to anything I'd seen before especially in Wigan. It was painted black and had a flourescent light in the ceiling. Anthing white lit up - even the dandruff on your shoulder. They always had a DJ and at least one group. I saw the Night Train from Leigh and The kind from St Helens there and a young local band called the Organisation.
For younger readers. Rory Storm mentioned above had a band in Liverpool same time as the Beatles were emerging. They were called Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. The drummer was Ringo Starr.
