Pictured Landlord & Landlady Jacky & Mary Brown having a drink behind the bar. Not sure what year but perhaps 1950's. They were my dad's adoptive parents. (Norman Brown)

My grandfather 'Father' was a founding member. Alf Sherburn of 167 Hardybutts. He would take me in the Legion on the odd afternoon when he was looking after me as a pre-school kid. I would play 'roll the balls across the snooker table' until I got them annoyed at me. "Tekim wom", was the first words I ever spoke!

Gary I think i may have sent this comment twice by mistake.
My mums family (Blans) ran the legion throughout the 1950s.
Bob Blan ran it at one point, also his dad Bill.
My mum was Brenda Williamson, her mum was Mary Blan, my mum doesn't remember the people in the picture, have you got your dates right?.sadly Mary Blan, Jack,Billy and Bob are no longer with us.
apologies if I have sent the e-mail twice
