i actualy drove that very bus early 70s it woudn't pull skin of a rice pudding ask any of the drivers that drove it it used to take 5 mins to get going if it was booked out to you in depot it spoiled your day it wasn't as fast as a mexican donkey

pity you did not have the management to keep the place going

Sadly successive Labour and Tory Governments decided the fate of Municipal Transport Undertakings, I left in 1974 when it became part of SELNEC.

I also drove that bus i agree they were not very fast, the new idea of middle doors was good I worked as a conductor 67-70 then passed for driving till finishing in 2005 .
Many good memories and tough ones. and varied characters like fag ash lil, Harry bat and maggie muscle, ciggy nick names off course you name it we met them all.
