Daphne love, I haven't seen Peter Bernard in this one, do you know if it is a film or a play. I have a feeling it may be one of those independent films you may only be able to see in Art Film Theatres. If it is a play please let me know the details. If you ask Quentin he usually keeps his ear to the ground on these sort of things. Love Pru.

Ah Prudence. Quentin doesnt know and I have been very busy lately helping Quentin with his flower arranging. I'll catch up with you shortly. Theres a meeting on Tuesday with the WI at the village hall. In fact we could actually show a Peter bernard film there. They have a delightful chap who knows all about how to hire films.

I heard a whisper the BBC are considering producing a film about the famous Wigan artist Laurence Isherwood in the style of Withnail and I with Bernard tipped to play the lead.
In a recent interview Bernard commented that you can’t always believe rumours but would be proud to play the part of his hero.
If the production did go ahead then it is hoped that Bernard’s local popularity would be mirrored Nationally and the film would achieve cult status as in Withnail and I.
Bernard added that he would like to be thought of in terms of previous revered character actors with Wigan connections such as Ken Parry and Roy Kinnear.

Yes Mr. Bury, I'm assuming Gad is a mans name though I'm not sure if thats the whole name or a nick name. You never know these days with all the silly names parents give to children.
I will look forward to seeing Peter Bernard in the role if it ever comes to that. He has the looks that would suit a somewhat seedy bohemian role. One of a world weary painter. I could see him in my minds eye. By the street corner, long mackintosh, oxo tin by his feet, showing off his canvasses. The Beeb could use that scene in their production.
I'm rather good at visualising scenes. I do a lot of that. I manage the production in our village drama group you see.
I dont think Peter Bernard has been knighted yet, has he?
You no doubt are using the term loosely to express Peter Bernards potential rather than his current status.

You see Ken Parry popping up in the old Sweeney episodes. So I wont be surprised if I see Bernard popping up in CSI Wigan. Rock on Curly lad.

I keep hearing about Bernard being in Coronation Street. I'm sure I read somewhere about him having a part as a gangster and having an affair with Beverley Callard who plays the landlady of the Rovers Return.
I used to frequent Bevs pub quite a lot - when she had it. I asked her about Bernard but she said she hadnt heard anything.
I'm not a fan of the show but I'll keep my eyes on the TV magazines to see if the old rascal finally bags a part.
