Aw I bet it’s to stop midges biting him I take it it’s blue for a boy. He looks docile anyway.
Lovely photo Dennis and a comical intro. §;~)

Not sure but it may be a horse in a field.

Comment by: Poet on 30th May 2025 at 08:35

Looks like he's walked through a tent Dennis .

Nice photo were is it please?

Up here we, I live in Shevington. We have a field with about 10 horses that I can view from our bedroom window, but I've noticed they never eat the Buttercups, which this year there are many.
But when the wild Deer come in, which is every few days they stand and eat as many of the buttercup flowerheads as they can.

It’s off Stanley Lane, Aspull jue.

I think that horse looks 'stupid' and I have heard that it does not do a horse any good to be covered up in that way, they are used to living outside, and we are now into the summer months of the year, so horsey will not appreciate having to wear that thing, that is probably why it has knocked it's bucket over, so I wonder which idiot as done that to that poor horse ?

Dennis, you could have waited until it was out of its pyjamas and had time to put on some decent clothes!

I'm shocked at the state of the wire barricade that has been erected around it. How unsightly is that?
And what would happen if a child ran up to the horse and got that loose wire in their eye?

If you had to choose a woman who the miserable looking horse looks like who would it be?
For me it would be Hilda Ogden wearing her head scarf.

Comment by: DTease on 30th May 2025 at 14:17

What if pigs could fly, Kelly DD would it rain bacon from the sky?

Veronica, up in Shevington, near to Mick's house, there's a field with ten horses in it.
They all gather on one side of the field so they can watch Mick looking from his bedroom window.
One horse says to the others, "There he is, watching us again. Doesn't he look docile".

Comment by: DTease on 30th May 2025 at 16:52

Who is Kelly DD Mick?

Comment by: Veronica on 30th May 2025 at 17:05

It must be a big field John
“Oh, give me a home, where the buffalo roam
Where the deer and the horses play
Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word
And the skies are raining bacon rolls all day…”
Gene Autrey at Scholes Pictures.

Mick, horses aren't daft, unless they're wearing a blue frock, and they don't like Buttercups either as they have a bitter taste, and can give them (and us too) blisters in their mouths, it's much the same for deer too, so It's surprising that they are eating them, are the ten horses belonging to travellers who put their horses into any field and leave them without food and water.

There’s 4 men looking for 4 horses Cyril. They shouldn’t have tied them up on that wire - they’ve broke free. There’ll be an Apocalypse in their tummies when they find ‘um if they’ve been eating buttercups….

Great pic Dennis of a lovely area.

Veronica, anyone with a spare day and wanting to earn a bit should go up to Paradise Farm Shevington, seems there are ten horses up there for hire along with a cart for the day, though folks should be good at bellowing loudly e.g., "Ragbowne, raggbowwne - bowwne."
And accordingly if they go down the back of DW Stadium, they'll be quids in with plenty dumped shopping trolleys, and hopefully will be bringing home some of that low flying bacon too, DTease.
There'll be no riders on white, red, black or pale horses either Veronica, as here they're all coral pink, though there are plenty white unicorns with it being Shevri-la.

I can’t believe there’s Rag bone men in Shevvy Cyril. Paradise Farm sounds about right though.

Bambi lives in Shevington.

He probably went looking for his mammy Dt. It was heart breaking when he lost his mammy in that
‘film’….everybody was crying in Scholes Pictures.
