Just Good Friends?
Then they say Romance is dead…..Aw…
Two Black Beauties for the price of one. It warms the cockles……
Good one Dennis.
I can't see anything hanging down so I would sat their both lady horses just gossiping like they do.
Horses spend most of the day nibbling the grass so its nice to see two beautiful horses nuzzling each other
Well caught Dennis.
A lovely heartwarming scene, beautiful creatures.
That's lovely! They look contented and well cared for. A beautiful sight on a May morning. Thankyou Dennis.
Beautiful heartwarming photo !
Beautiful Spring scene - the horses look in really good condition - we could learn a lot from these loyal and loving animals.
Dennis, I think that one horse is saying to the other, 'Don't turn around now, but I think we've got an admirer'.
I might be wrong but think they might be Friesians which is a horse breed originating in Friesland in north Netherlands. The breed nearly became extinct on more than one occasion. It is classified as a light draught horse, and the modern day Friesian horse is used for riding and driving. The Friesian horse is most known for its all-black coat colour, its long flowing mane and tail, feathering on its legs, a high head carriage, and high stepping action.
The long flowing tail certainly seems to fit the description. Beautiful creatures.
We can learn a lot from the serenity of horses .
They seem to stand in the same position still and quiet for hours .
What long fly wafting tails this pair have. .
A unique smell to a horse. . Pungent .
I think one's saying to the other, "Smile, Gladys, lass.....we're on photo-a-day, and that lot on Wigan World are gawpin' at us. Yon "Poet" might even mek a poem up about us. Don't tell Alice down at t'bottom....'er's not noticed Dennis wi' 'is camera."
Beautiful photo Dennis. What are those buildings behind, does anybody know?
I once landed on one of the frieshan island when the helicopter I was in was getting low on fuel.
I remember there being lots of free to roam cows that our pilot had to chase out of the way so that he could land close to the fuel supply.
Apologies, Colin. I had put my comment re the horses' conversation on before I saw yours, or I wouldn't have said it; I feel like I'm eight years old again and sat at my old school desk which I mentioned yesterday, "copying off young Colin Traynor"..... Sorry! Still, it's all a bit of fun and I know you won't take the huff.
The background on this photo shows how much of the countryside village of Aspul.is being taken over by industry's
I should have said the pilot chased away the cows by dive bombing them He was ex RAF so he knew what he was doing.
Naaaay, straight from the horses mouth Irene.
I could never take offence or the huff from you, you are always polite and put your own stamp on PAD when you are in the saddle.
Didn't realise that they taught animal husbandry in the RAF Mick. Would have thought that dive-bombing farm animals would have caused great distress, even miscarriages.
It look like it might be an Equestrian Centre.
PAT Mc the pilot would have been g taught not to bugger around and to get the aircraft down when it was low on fuel.
Chasing a herd of cows was better than crash landing and ruining a expensive helicopter.
My apologies Mick - of course human life would be the first consideration.
Mick, what a wonderful life you have led, riding in helicopters, flagging in the North Sea and many others and of course telling us all about it
Low over fetlock flow
Tails of dark waterfalls
Sprinkling the meadow ,
Watching with eyes
Like Van Eyck mirrors
Each step that Dennis makes ,
They stand statuesque ,
Poor as Buddhist monks ,
Full of grace and nobility ,
A little whinny as Dennis passes ,
Then bend their necks
To the sweet grass .
