Photo-a-Day (Saturday, 22nd March, 2025)
Wallgate
It must be over 30 years ago I last used this footpath and I would think a large percentage of people who go to Wigan are the same.I like how the path is bordered with flowers to give it kerb appeal
Good one Dennis.
Is that a reflection of a lamp in that window or a framed photo?
I have walked INTO the churchyard from Wallgate many times but not not the opposite way and couldn't get my bearings for a few seconds until I read Dennis's description. I like the reflection of the old lamp in the window on the left. A lovely photo, Dennis.
It's not 30 years ago for me, I used it yesterday.
I use it a lot when I'm walking from the bus station to the railway station.
And I often use it when I'm out and about on my bike.
A different angle of the area around the church Dennis.
It does look like a painting in the window.
It looks quite nice….
Different view altogether if not used much. I did recognise it right away.
If this were in Westminster or anywhere posher than Wigan those two lampshades would be screwed on the same way.
When I used to take and pick my young son to School,he always walked along that wall on the right hand side…happy memories.
What’s the opposite of Posh - the Gant ?
For many , like myself , the Gant holds such rich treasured memories !
If Posh makes you feel , the same as I do about the Gant , then surely we are equal?
