This swan was definitely feeling peckish approaching Top Lock.

There are a lot of swans about this year; we even got a family of them at Rose Bridge

Good photo John. Those royal airforce trousers certainly got a close inspection from the swans. Protected by law 'the royal perogative', the swans not the trousers.

Awww, they're lovely and how nice to see someone being so kind to them.

I like the way the Swans are ‘gathering around’ it must be very handy having a long neck! I wonder which one is the ‘boss’.

That’s correct Tom I was thinking there was a lot of swan families almost in between every lock, I was talking to an ex fireman at Hest bank yesterday from Forge Street very close to Rose Bridge.

Yep you can’t be anything but kind to swans even when they are a little bit over protective,a young lady asked me if I could use my bike as a shield to get her past that family I obviously did as she was very frightened.

I think it's a 'Passing Out Parade' with John presenting the Cygnet with his Wings in front of the proud parents.
But why are they called Cygnets?
The first records of the word cygnet come from the 1400s. It comes from the Latin cygnus, from the Greek kýknos, meaning “swan.” This Latin root serves as the genus name for swans, as well as the name of the swan-shaped constellation Cygnus. The ending -et is used in nouns to indicate smallness

Looks like one of them fancies a bit of sausage, John!

The first foreign cigs I bought in Turkey were called Cygnets.

Veronica, Starmer should reinstate the winter fuel allowance, before talking about releasing the sausages.

DTease you have a way with words hahaha I posted this hour’s ago,by the way Dennis we called at the Ballcaras for their Steak and a drink only to be told no meals till 6pm as they had to clean up ready for new landlord which spoke volumes so ended up going to the Retreat (the church at Adlington)and wasn’t disappointed as the meal was excellent and well recommended.

D.T. For some reason I sent a similar message around dinner time but nothing appeared…….the trousers came from Sports Direct as the only solo flying I’ve done was on my CBR.

He’d rather ban sausages or grind US down into sausage meat!
