Dustbin Alley
And no sign of Cheese and Egg ,,,,,,,are they due Mick.
Looks like somebody bottled it Mick, always get one don't we !
It reminds me of "Top Cat" on the telly with all the cats in the alley around the dustbins. Naturally I can't get the theme-tune out of my head now!
What can I say Mick but I give you that, you always take an interesting & unusual photo , I like the title of it , very apt !
If we the public blocked a right of way like this the council would be on our backs and probably fined, but because this is orchestrated by the council and a result of them putting targets first, we , Joe public have to suffer the inconvenience.
It’s Marsh Lane with Bryan House on the left and Water Street Car Park at the bottom.
And no sign of Cheese and Egg ,,,,,,,are they due Mick.
Ok TC :)
I can’t imagine the bin men putting all the bins back in the same order …they would be too busy running after the bin wagon to catch-up.
Your right Veronica the bin men do walk or even sprint quite a few miles in their working day.
Yes John.. that’s why they have such hard muscles in their legs… but not in their arms because they won’t lift heavy bins. They lift the lids and think ..’Ahm not liftin’ that load on’t wagon- stuff that! ‘‘ ….and other expletives!
I believe from what I’ve seen on F/B if the lid won’t close they won’t empty them.
Invented by British man, Frank Rotherham, where would we be today without our wheelie bins.
A few weeks. Ago, I was watching a program showing volunteer litter at pickers at Mount Everest base camp, and they were using wheelie bins.
The Dustbin Men was a good comedy series, thanks for the reminder John, and here's an episode from off youtube.

An unusual photo Mick, and that number bins in the alley is ridiculous, but then there's probably no place large enough for them all to be stowed away, but surely a dumpster like the red ones further down would be more convenient.
They don't need to lift the bins, the lift mechanism at the back of the vehicle does that.
One day while in a hurry he missed a woman’s bin
He hadn’t gone but a few yards when she chased after him
“What game do you think you’re playing” she cried out from the heart
“You’ve missed me am I too late?” “Naa jump up on the cart”
Lonnie Donegan.
Nineteen fifty something.
The binmen.
Or, as they are better known, The Pensioners Bloody Alarm Clock!
DTease going back some Lonnie Donegan I was in a skiffle group at school on the washboard (Cumberland Gap etc etc) all I can remember is 15 miles.
Veronica our bin as been left a couple of times so luckily I’ve got a decent trailer so just took to tip with rubble as I was a regular visitor 6 years back.
I have to drag my bin up a long path. The men wouldn’t drag a bin to the wagon if was heavy never mind hoist it on the ledge! The bin men of the past put them to shame. It’s a doddle of a job these days John and they’re home a lot earlier.
Spot on Veronica.
How long have you been a bin man Veronica? Working practices have changed. 'Bin men' don't lift the smaller galvanised and plastic bins anymore. The larger capacity wheeled bins are wheeled to the vehicle. More domestic properties nowadays.
And heavier bins still when they’re left for two weeks Tic.
